Amber Chia Academy 2nd Anniversary

Posted by on Oct 31, 2012 in Fashion & Lifestyle

Amber Chia Academy celebrated their 2nd anniversary at Tropicana City Mall on Sunday. As expected, the celebrations kicked off with a short speech by Amber. This was followed by a guest singer, and then there was a make-up show (Halloween-themed) and a fashion show. The celebrations ended with a lucky draw session, and then the guests were invited to a short reception hosted by Sushi Tei. All in all, it was nice – short and sweet...

Halloween Decorations

Halloween Decorations

Posted by on Oct 26, 2012 in Celebrations

I was at Neway’s Karaoke SS2 today with a friend. To my surprise, they had put up Halloween decorations. The decorations looked great, and I could not resist snapping a few photos… with Neway’s permission, of course. Skeletons in the House The first sight that greeted customers was a big skeleton on the floor facing the elevator. After registering at the counter, I turned around to find another skeleton guarding the entrance to the private rooms. Ghouls and Ghosties I nearly walked into this! The staff members had put up a number of ghouls and severed heads around. Gory, but nice… Carved Pumpkins There were also plenty of carved pumpkins in evidence (not real ones, though, just plastic imitations). Although Halloween is not a popular festival in Malaysia, Neway had put up a great effort. Kudos to...

Canon Photomarathon 2012

Canon Photomarathon 2012

Posted by on Oct 20, 2012 in Events

I went to Canon’s annual Photomarathon yesterday. Some students from the Lights@KDU photography club were participating as well. In the picture: Standing (from left): Tzer Haw, Oori, Siew Yen, Leo, Weng Hong, You Jing, Desmond Teoh and Tristan Squatting: Chia Kuui Missing from photo: Zefong There were a lot of participants at Berjaya Times Square, gathering as early as 6:45am. Registration began at 7am. The goodie bag this year was a little disappointing. A t-shirt, as usual. A KFC Colonel burger and a muffin for breakfast… A bottle of water. And a towel. Hmm. Theme 1: Rapid Mobility The flag off went well. Theme 1 was announced on schedule – Rapid Mobility. I saw quite a number of participants shooting the Monorail train, trying their hands at panning shots and shooting at the theme park in Berjaya Times Square. Theme 2: Green Path to Civilisation At 12pm, Theme 2 was announced. Green path to civilisation. Hmm, participants began to look around for trees, bushes and plants. Theme 3: Love At 3pm, participants gathered at the Boulevard again for the announcement of the final theme. Love… Hehe, participants began to stalk couples all over the mall. I saw some participants taking pictures of mothers with small kids as well. Oh, well. Uploading the Pictures Overall, it was quite enjoyable ๐Ÿ™‚ Most of the Lights@KDU students were exhausted though. We ended up going over to Wong Kok SS2 to upload our pictures onto the given website. Here, Canon had also made some changes. Previously, they provided computers for the participants to upload their pictures. This year, we had to bring our own laptops. Oh, well – the grand prize is a 5D Mark III and a trip to Hungary. Hopefully one of the Lights@KDU members can win a...
