Christmas decorations all over Klang Valley… 1 Utama’s Pastry Wonderland He’s supposed to be an ice-cream cone… Sweets galore… yum! A pigeon at Mid Valley Megamall. Woo-hoo, it’s Christmas! Star light, star bright… Pavilion’s Bedazzling Christmas… Another shining star? Jewels on a Christmas tree… Fahrenheit 88’s Pop Up Christmas… Purple ornaments… I think they’re supposed to be grapes… nice! Wow, they even made use of the ceiling. Sungei Wang Plaza’s Big Band of Christmas… Sentry duty? Popcorn strings are so sophisticated nowadays… Santa’s North Park is now in Berjaya Times Square! Santa and… er, what’s the name of his grouchiest reindeer again? Oooh, rabbits! My favorite… Santa’s workshop at Suria KLCC Elf at work… Tropicana City Mall’s theme is Toy Wonderland… I wish this one was mine. Is that… Ted? A block at the top of the tree? Hmm, reminds me too much of school… One of the “products” of the workshop… e@Curve has a simple display of toys… Shiny balls on the ceiling… Not much of a color coordination, but nice! Palace of the Golden Horses

Palace of the Golden Horses

I was at the Palace of the Golden Horses Hotel for a seminar today. I have not been back there for years. It’s still quite impressive, although it’s now a little run-down. Horsy Decorations With an impressive centerpiece just off the reception area, the hotel boasts of plenty of decorations, all themed around horses. Even the signboards for the washrooms show a knight and a lady-knight on horses! The toilets were also astonishing – the doors to the toilets show an embossed horse’s head (I didn’t take any pictures of that – didn’t want the hotel to throw me out as a stalker). High Standards The hotel bears the distinction of once being noted as a “six-star” hotel. Now, it prides itself as a five-star hotel, one of the best known five-star hotels in Kuala Lumpur. I was really impressed with the service quality (and the food quality!) of the hotel. Quality… at a Price The decorations were nice to look at, the food quality was good, the service was great… the only drawback I could find was the price of the rooms. I asked about their room rates at the reception counter. At least RM293 per night… way beyond my budget! Location Details The hotel is in the Mines Resort City, Seri Kembangan, about twenty minutes out of Kuala Lumpur. A bit out of the way, yes, but the hotel provided shuttle services. I’d really love to stay there… More information can be found at: Palace of the Golden...

With glimmering costumes and shining sets, Sunway Lagoon?s 5th musical, Beauty and Beast, had its Gala Premiere Night last night at their Amphitheater. Fantasy at its Best The two hour show (with a 15-minute intermission in between) was enchanting, to say the least. The musical had me glued to my seat for the entire duration. Professionals at Work The actors were really professional ? they could sing, they could dance? and of course, they could definitely act! What more would you ask for, in a musical? The show boasted live musicians from Philippines, led by David Laugharne. Although they featured only two songs from Disney?s production, the total repertoire of 17 songs were unforgettable. Further Details Beauty and the Beast would be showing for the entire month of December at Sunway Lagoon Amphitheater. Why not go and “be their guest”? Links for tickets can be obtained through the Sunway Lagoon...
