It was a star studded night to remember as Miss Global International Malaysia 2014 (MGIM 2014) crowned five coveted grand slam and major international titles at the Grand Finale Gala Night at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel last Sunday. Throughout the night, the 19 finalists paraded in cultural dresses, then swimsuits and evening gowns. Six of them also performed their talents, having been shortlisted earlier during the Talent Night. The subtitles were given out first. Prize winners are as follows: 1) Miss Body Beautiful – Jayarubini Sambanthan 2) Miss Charm International – Audrey Loke 3) Miss Face Perfect – Audrey Loke 4) Miss XES Elegant – Mico Pun 5) Miss Personality – Wendy Foo 6) Miss Popularity – Mico Pun 7) Miss Congeniality – Mico Pun 8) Miss Talent – Audrey Loke 9) Miss Photogenic – Serene Chai 10) Miss JD Personality – Serene Chai After several events, the nine top finalists were announced. These lucky girls were then asked to answer a question each. The judges then withdrew to deliberate. Finally, the winners were announced. They were: Naomi Sim as World Miss University Malaysia, Wendy Foo as Miss Globe International Malaysia, Nicole Bungan as Miss Intercontinental Malaysia, Audrey Loke as Miss Supranational Malaysia and Jayarubini Sambanthan as Miss International Malaysia. The five winners would next represent Malaysia in various international pageants: Miss International in Tokyo, Miss Supranational in Poland, Miss Intercontinental in Jordan, Miss Globe International in Albania and World Miss University in Korea. Presented by Paradigm Mall, the Malaysia Supermodel Search 2014 made it’s annual reappearance, this time a rebrand and reboot version of the annual Asia New Star Model Contest (ANSMC). Once again the event collaborated with the Asia Model Festival Awards. In its press conference last Tuesday, the top 20 adult finalists were officially revealed. As in recent years, one male and one female winner will be sent to Seoul, Korea to compete at the ANSMC 2015. Winners will also win modeling contracts with NOW Model Management Singapore. The ten potential female supermodels are Audrey Wong Shi Mei (20), Bella Chee Yuen Chi (19), Ivana Esther Robert Smit (15), Jane Tan Yan Jun (19), Kessyl Lim Tek Lee (19), Nicky Chang Shu Ying (20), Nurul Hazrina Binti Sabri (22), Prissha Gerald (16), Selin Chan Nyin Wen (18), and Siti Khairunisah Binti Abdul Razak (23) while the then potential male supermodels consisted of Aaron Hoh Sheng Biao (18), Abdul Aliff Hafiz Bin Abdul Rani (25), Anson Ang Mong Soong (24), Jackson Lim Howe Seng (26), Jacky Nai Yen Chen (20), Jayden Yen Yoong Cheng (21), Joseph Oon Zi Yin (21), Junior Jemos Danny (24), Ryan Yong Fong Sing (24) and Sina Razaghi (22). This year, there is also a kid category, where kids between the ages of 4 and 11 are eligible to enter.
