Breast cancer has always been sort of a taboo topic in Malaysia. Most of us are too shy to talk about it. But it can happen to those closest to you… XIXILI’s annual awareness campaign kicked off on Wednesday at the South Court, Mid Valley Megamall. And they have packed so much into the 5-day campaign… MC, Jenn Chia, getting ready… Watch out for this lady – she gives out freebies from XIXILI, Shu Uemura, Number 76, Dunkin’ Donuts and Juice Works! First off is an invitation from Pinky – take a picture on the two Harley Davidsons featured at the campaign, put it up on Instagram with the correct hashtag, and you might just win a prize. There’s Jenn on the bike. Shu Bear from makeup partner, Shu Uemura, is a pink warrior. Are you? Who said the Kiss and Pledge is only for ladies? “I’m macho enough to do it… how about you?” RM15 donation will get you a free haircut by professionals from Number 76. “Eh, young man, not to short ah…” The queue is super long though (some participants in the queue admitted that they waited two and a half hours), so you might want to go really early. What’s an awareness campaign without facts? Nurses and doctors from Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA) stand by to teach shoppers how to do it properly. There’s also a free clinical examination – all you have to do is fill up a form. And of course, there are merchandise for sale. Buy any of these, and you are also entitled to a free turn at the Wheel of Hope (which features a lot of goodies from XIXILI, as well as sponsors Juice Works, Shu Uemura, Dunkin’ Donuts and Number 76)!
