Holi is a two-day festival, celebrated in India and Nepal during spring. It is also known as the festival of colors or the festival of sharing love. Participants chase and color each other with dry powder and water. Anyone and everyone is fair game on the first day. Today marks the International Women’s Day. Although it is not widely acknowledged as an important date in Malaysia, it does serve an important function – to remind people every year of half the human race. We have traveled far from ancient times, when women were not counted as important as livestock, to the present day, where (almost) the whole world has recognized the important role that women plays in everyday life. Balloons Return for the 8th Year

The media launch of the event was conducted yesterday at a press conference at Dewan Seri Melati, Putrajaya Corporation Complex. Five special shaped balloons will be attending 2016’s Fiesta – Bobo the Happy Lobster from Belgium, flown by Geert Van Wolvelaer, the yellow jacket Bee Balloon from Brazil, flown by Francisco Naccarato, Mister Z the Zebra from United States of America, piloted by Jonathan Wright and the Alien Rocket balloon from Canada, flown by Alain Bard. Other international balloons are from France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia and Poland. The fiesta’s sponsors and partners included the Ministry of Tourism, the Republic of Indonesia, Optimax Eye Specialist Centre Sdn Bhd, China Auto Manufacturers (M) Sdn Bhd, FlexiPack Domestic by Pos Malaysia Berhad, Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, Dorsett Putrajaya, Doof Industries, D’Tandoor International Group of Restaurants, EFY Dot Com, 988 FM and Suria FM, Taylor’s University and KLIA Transit, KL Calling, Rock & Tulips Association, YogaOneThatIWant Studio and Under Armour Malaysia.
