Chinese New Year means cookies, firecrackers, lion dances and dragon dances. Contrary to popular belief, New Year does not start on the first day of the lunar calendar. It starts during the first day of Spring – Li Chun. Chinese people all over the world would bank in money during auspicious times, and try to balance an egg on a smooth surface at a specific time.
