Chinese New Year Traditions

Chinese New Year means cookies, firecrackers, lion dances and dragon dances.

Contrary to popular belief, New Year does not start on the first day of the lunar calendar. It starts during the first day of Spring – Li Chun. Chinese people all over the world would bank in money during auspicious times, and try to balance an egg on a smooth surface at a specific time.

This year is the Year of the Dog. When the lunar calendar starts tomorrow, hopefully this means a better time for everybody all over the world. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
